There are more than 200 different species of Moray eels length from 15cm to 4.6m. They can be often found in the shallow waters and near the coral reefs. They are frequently thought of as particularly vicious but in fact, they are shy and they keep their mouth open only to provide constant circulation of the water through their gills to breath.
